Shaw Butte Ward Christmas Party 2008
Yes, it is that time of year again. A time to enjoy one another's company, fine food, spiritual remembrance of our Lord's birth. This year's party was a delight. Friends neighbors coming together.
You ask, "What's for dinner?" Well, we had sliced ham, green beans with almonds, sour creme potatoes, croissant rolls, and cranberry sauce. We had apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. Those who didn't like apples just had the ice cream.
Yet, who can forget our favorite person to make an appearance? A special reserved seat was saved for him. Santa Claus checked in with the little ones. Ok, some of the little ones are not so little. ;) Below you will see those visited with Santa.
Sad note: not all of our friends and loved ones could make it. Some due to sickness, others due to loss of dear ones, yet others out on missions and the military. Our hearts go to you. We hope you save room for the Spirit of God to comfort you.
Remember this is the season that we celebrate the birth of Lord Jesus Christ, who has overcome all things. He has suffered all and knows how to comfort. He has "been there and done that" and He waits for us to go to him for help. May we all find the courage and strength to go to him.
